Day 01 - City Tour – Weston Wetland (D)
Pick up from hotel and proceed to City Tour, The tour includes a photo stop at Sabah State Mosque with its gold inlaid onion dome, the largest dome of its type in Malaysia. Visit the Chinese Buddhist Temple where a huge statue of Kuan Yin; photo stop at the Menara Tun Mustapha, a magnificent building with its reflective glass panel, one of the few hanging structure type of building in the world. Visit nature market/Filipino market for search of local food & fruits and unique handicraft as souvenir. After city tour, stop for lunch at local restaurant (on pax); continue journey to Weston Wetland after lunch. Along the way, you will be passing by small towns, paddy fields and villages. Arriving at Weston Village, local tea break with traditional cakes will be served. After tea break, proceed to Weston Jetty for boat ride along the river of Weston Wetland in search of Proboscis Monkeys (Dutchman of The East), Silver Leaf Monkeys, Eagles, etc. River cruise till dusk and you can see the mysterious fireflies and perhaps a salt water crocodile. Boat will stop at the local village restaurant to enjoy a special local dinner. After dinner, boat ride back to Weston Jetty and transfer back to Hotel in Kota Kinabalu Town.
Day 02 - Choose Your Preference
Option 1 Kota Kinabalu – Kinabalu Park – Poring Hot Spring (L)
0800hrs pick up from hotel and proceed to Kinabalu National Park, Malaysia’s Natural Heritage site. Journey will take approximately 2 hours passing by villages, paddy fields along mountainous roads that wind along the Crocker range. A brief stopover at Nabalu, a collection of native stalls selling fruits, vegetables, local produces and handicrafts, and at the same time you can observe the local tribe’s stall activities. Arrive at Kinabalu Park; enjoy the cool and refreshing mountain air, if day is clear you may see a majestic view of Mount Kinabalu, the highest mountain in South East Asia. Proceed for a guided walk along the nature trails with the park naturalist. While walking, listen to the sounds of the jungle and observe nature’s plants, trees, orchids and butterflies. Kinabalu Park boasts an estimated 4,500 species of plants which includes 1,500 species of orchids, 77 of which are endemic to Kinabalu. The park also supports 289 species of birds and 290 different types of butterflies. Proceed for lunch at local restaurant. After lunch, depart for another interesting natural wonder, the Poring Hot Spring located approximately 47 km from Kinabalu Park. Poring Hot Spring, named after the tall bamboo plant that is abundant in that area, is a natural spring where hot sulfurous water emit from the ground. There are Japanese Baths where visitors can soak themselves and let the invigorating sulfurous water stimulate the body. Visitors can also try the Canopy Walkway, where suspension bridges are suspended at the top of the canopy for visitors to walk along the canopy of a tropical jungle. Depart Poring Hot Spring for Kota Kinabalu. On arrival, transfer to hotel. Tonight, you may explore Kota Kinabalu Town Centre and enjoy your dinner of your choice.
Option 2 Kota Kinabalu – Manukan Island (L)
0900hrs pick up from hotel and proceed to jetty in downtown Kota Kinabalu. On arrival at jetty, board boat at 0930hrs for a 20 minute ride to the beautiful Manukan Island.
0950hrs arrive at Manukan Island, free to swim or snorkel or just laze around the beach soaking the tropical sun. There are also trails for short nature walk. Other optional activities on this island are Banana Boat Rides, Para Sailing, Fly Fish, Jet Ski and etc...
1130hrs sumptuous BBQ lunch will be served by the beach. After lunch, free at leisure till 1500hrs depart from Manukan Island, arrive at jetty and transfer back to hotel.
