Kota Kinabalu

 

On arrival in Kota Kinabalu you will be met at the airport and transferred to your Hotel.

1400 hrs - Time to explore this picturesque capital city in a 3 hours tour. Visit the State Museum and Heritage Village with photo stops at the Sabah State Mosque, Sabah Foundation Building, bird's eye view of the city from Signal Hill and a brief stop at a handicraft market.

 

 

Depart hotel and drive north along a winding road to Kudat which is about 160 kilometers to the north of Kota Kinabalu. On the way, take a short stop at Kota Belud to see the traditional sword making. Upon reaching Matunggong, Kudat check in at Longhouse. A stay at the longhouse will enable you to experience and observe the Rungus people's lifestyle and surrounding - the Longhouse community, gong-making and honey bee farming. See the woven basketry and intricate beadwork. After dinner, you will be entertained with the cultural performance by the Rungus people. You may also join in the "tapai" (rice wine) drinking session with the host.

 

 

After breakfast, proceed to the Northern tip of Borneo and collect shells on the pristine white beaches. Return to Kota Kinabalu with lunch at local restaurant.

 

 

Visit the Kundasang Vegetable markets and catch the best sight of Mt. Kinabalu, Malaysia's highest mountain. Visit the Mt. Garden to learn more about the flora and fauna and Agro Nursery. Proceed to Poring Hot Springs where visitors have the opportunity to dip into an invigorating hot sulphur open tubs and take the 41m high canopy walk which offers a spectacular view of the Borneo Rainforest. Overnight at Kinabalu Park - Cabin or similar.

 

Our day begins with a visit to the Sabah Tea Plantation and see how green tea is processed. This is the first organic tea in South East Asia certified by the Tea World Association. After lunch, travel for 4 hours drive through the rubber and oil palm plantations to Sukau Village. Upon arrival, time to relax with coffee / tea and light refreshment. Embark on a evening cruise for 2 hours slow river cruise in search of the Proboscis Monkeys and other wildlife. Overnight at River Cabin.

Visit the Gomantong caves famed for its edible bird's nest. Proceed to Sandakan Town. Lunch followed by a short city tour of Sandakan covering the Sandakan Market, Water village, Chinese Temple and Agnes Keith Tea House. Overnight at Hotel.

 

Visit the Sepilok Orang Utan Sanctuary where you can witness the feeding ofthe young OrangUtans before transferring to Sandakan Airport for your flight back to Kota Kinabalu. Upon arrival at Kota Kinabalu, transfer to your hotel. Free for the day. Dinner on your own arrangement.

 

 

1330 hrs – Depart from hotel Lobby.

The drive passes Sabah's countryside, scenic secluded beaches, villages, paddy fields, plantations and mangrove forest. Passing the countryside one can see the changing ambiance that can only be described by being there. Arriving at our destination Klias, enjoy light refreshment with local cakes while mingling and learning about the local community. By 1630 hrs, proceed to jetty for boat cruise in the mangrove to sight the bizarre Proboscis Monkey. Catch glimpses of the Macaque Monkey, the rare Silver Langur and other wildlife. Expected arrival at jetty at 1800 hrs and enjoy a kampong style dinner. Experience wonderful spectacular scenery of the hundred fire flies by the river bank. Transfer back to hotel at 2130 hrs.

 

 

The day is yours to enjoy at leisure and just relax and unwind on a sun drenched white sandy beach on one of the five Islands of Tunku Abdul Rahman Park. Swim in warm, azure waters and snorkel amidst a myriad of tropical fishes or explore the rich coral reefs on the island's fringes. A sumptuous barbecue lunch is offered. Dinner on your own arrangement. Overnight at Hotel.

 

 

This morning you are free to relax until your departure. "Selamat Jalan" as you transfer to the Kota Kinabalu International Airport at the end of this unique and memorable tour.
